So it has been a really long time.....

One of my goals for the New Year is

to try and post here at least a few times a month.

I feel like this past year has been one of the hardest,

yet rewarding times of my life. I feel like I am a

in a better place, and at peace with myself.

Not to say there are thing's that I would like to

improve on. There is always room to improve.

So as far as things we have been up to...

Tilisa is in fourth grade and loving it! She loves

school. She loves to learn and she loves researching

new things, she loves technology, and reading.

We found out that she is blind as a bat...lol! So she

is now wearing some stylin new glasses! She is still

taking piano with a new teacher that we love! She had her

piano recital this past fall and did a great job.

She also was is in her elementary choir and there Christmas

concert was awesome.

Shannan is in first grade and she is doing great.

She loves her teacher and on her last report

card she earned all A's.

She is so much like my mom (her namesake)

I cannot believe it at times.

She loves to laugh, and tease, but not like

to be teased. She wants to start piano and

soccer this year so we will see.

Shannan lost her two front teeth right

before Thanksgiving so she is still praying

she will soon get them back!!

Ana is youngest and the craziest of our girls.

She always has something to say that is funny

and very quick I must say. Some of the things that

come out of her mouth shock me, amaze me, and

make me sometimes want to put a whole bar of soap in

her mouth....LOL!! Ana is in kindergarten and she

can't get enough of it, the social part of it that is.

She cannot wait to get to school every day to be with her

friends. The winter break has been torture for her!!

Ana loves to laugh, dance and just be a goof ball!!

This past year I have realized how precious

the time is I have with my girls. Each day I hope that

I am giving them my best. I love them so much and I

am so thankful that my Heavenly Father has given

me my girls. I don't know what I would be without them.

I am working full time as a graveyard PBX operator.

It has been a huge struggle since I have always

only worked part time. I feel like a zombie 99.9%

of the time, but I try to be as normal as possible.

I don't think people quite understand what it's like to

work grave yards, and be a mom, at the time.

I keep telling Loni I can't wait until August when

all three girls will be full time in school. Then I can

Sleep!! I can make it through the next 8 months.

This next year I really want to focus on finding

balance. Sometimes, well most of the time I sit and

wonder where the day went. I am trying to be more

organized. I want to be better with our finances, and

of coarse I want to continue losing weight. Those are my

top goals for this year, and of coarse keeping up with our blog.

I hope all of you have a Awesome 2011!!

Tilisa's Piano Recital

Tilisa just started taking piano about
2 months ago and has already moved
up four classes. She loves it, and she
is so good. I don't even have to
remind her to practice. She just puts her
ipod on and practices for hours.
I am so proud of her and look
forward to seeing her talent grow.

Shanny just turned 6 and so much has
happen in the past few weeks.
She started her first day of Kindergarten and
she was so excited to go.
Everyday she has brought home a smiley face
to show what a great
job she did for the day.
She has loved being in school
and making new friends.
Her first day she said was boring because all
they did was talk about colors...lol!

I always get a kick out of things kids say....

This week Ana said, "Mom why you like

kissing daddy so much?"

I laughed of coarse and

said, I don't know. I just

like kissing him! Ana broke out

in the loudest, goofiest laugh and said,

"Because he is your Boyfriend!"

Your right Ana, He is my boyfriend!

I love him so much!!!

Here is T and Ana.

My kids hate taking pictures for

some reason. It's like pulling teeth.

My Shanny. At least she smiles for me!

We have not been up to much.

Just swimming, job interviews,

more swimming, running,

more swimming!

T is off track now.

I am kind of glad. I miss

her during the day.

Lately I have been reflecting on thing's in my life

that I can do differently or better. There are many

things that I cannot wait to change. I think I have

seen the "light" and realized that I was neglecting

certain things. This last week for FHE we talked

about goals. For myself I set three goals; a mental,

spiritual, and a physical goal. I am not going to tell

you what they are yet, I will just tell you I am excited!

I think they are things that will help me be a better

person, wife, mom and friend.

Weekly Update!

Last week was teacher appreciation week.

We decided to make candy lei's for

the kids teachers.

There teachers loved them, and the kids had fun making them.

We made about 20 of them last week

for teachers, Mother's in the ward,

and a few neighbors.

Here is just a random picture of

Tilisa and Shanny. She is getting so

excited to start kindergarten.

I don't know what Ana will do all on

her own.

One of the great thing's about Vegas is Loni

has been able to perform more often.

He loves singing. When I see him on stage

I know he is doing something he loves

and he is most comfortable.

This is the first time Shannan and Ana have seen

him perform. They performed on Freemont Street

which was pretty exciting for all of us.

Well that is what we have been up to this past

week. Oh ya and we got asked to speak in

church.....We are thinking of going into hiding!

Thankful to Be A Mommy!

I could not go much longer without saying how

very blessed I feel being a Mom.

My whole life the only thing I wanted was

to be a Mom.

It's hard sometimes, but totally worth it.

Here is my little Ana. In church Sunday

she was being rather grumpy, and I was

holding her. I whispered in her ear Ana

can you please be and reverent in church today

so Mommy can have a Happy Mother's Day?

She quickly said, "you are not a mother,

you are a Mommy! LoL.

That is Ana always keeping me on my toes.

My shanny. She has the best heart and

constantly tells me how much she loves me.

She will be starting kindergarten this year.

She is a great sister and always the peace maker.

My little T, isn't so little anymore.

She is getting so tall, and she will be eight

this year. Where does the time go?

She is a little smarty pants and always

amazes me how smart and talented she is.

Now I could not go any further without saying

how thankful I am for my own Mom.

She has always been there for me through tick or thin.

She has been my constant support and shoulder

to cry on. It's been so hard being so far apart,

but I know that she is always a phone call away.

I found this story and I thought it was

a great one to share.

The Invisible Mother

It all began to make sense, the blank stares, the lack of response, the way one of the kids will walk into the room while I'm on the phone and ask to be taken to the store.

Inside I'm thinking, 'Can't you see I'm on the phone?'

Obviously, not. No one can see if I'm on the phone, or cooking, or sweeping the floor,

or even standing on my head in the corner, because no one can see me at all.

I'm invisible. The invisible Mom. Some days I am only a pair of hands, nothing more:

Can you fix this?

Can you tie this?

Can you open this ?

Some days I'm not a pair of hands; I'm not even a human being.

I'm a clock to ask, 'What time is it?' I'm a satellite guide to answer,

'What number is the Disney Channel?'

I'm a car to order, 'Right around 5:30, please.'

I was certain that these were the hands that once held books and the eyes that studied history and the mind that graduated sum a cum laud - but now they had disappeared into

the peanut butter, never to be seen again.

She's going; she's going; she is gone!

One night, a group of us were having dinner, celebrating the return of a friend from England ..Janice had just gotten back from a fabulous trip, and she was going on and on about the hotel she stayed in.

I was sitting there, looking around at the others all put together so well. It was hard not to compare and feel sorry for myself.

I was feeling pretty pathetic, when Janice turned to me with a beautifully wrapped package, and said, 'I brought you this.'

It was a book on the great cathedrals of Europe. I wasn't exactly sure why she'd given it to me until I read her inscription:

'To Charlotte, with admiration for the greatness of what you are building when no one sees.'

In the days ahead I would read - no, devour - the book.

And I would discover what would become for me, four life-changing truths, after which I could pattern my work:

No one can say who built the great cathedrals - we have no record of their names.

These builders gave their whole lives for a work they would never see finished.

They made great sacrifices and expected no recognition.

The passion of their building was fueled by their faith that the eyes of God saw everything .

A legendary story in the book told of a rich man who came to visit the cathedral while it was being built, and he saw a workman carving a tiny bird on the inside of a beam. He was puzzled and asked the man,

'Why are you spending so much time carving that bird into a beam that will be covered by the roof?

No one will ever see it.' And the workman replied, 'Because God sees.'

I closed the book, feeling the missing piece fall into place. It was almost as if I heard God whispering to me,

'I see you, Charlotte. I see the sacrifices you make every day, even when no one around you does.

No act of kindness you've done, no sequin you've sewn on, no cupcake you've baked, is too small for me to notice and smile over.

You are building a great cathedral, but you can't see right now what it will become.'

At times, my invisibility feels like an affliction.

But it is not a disease that is erasing my life. It is the cure for the disease of my own self-centeredness.

It is the antidote to my strong, stubborn pride. I keep the right perspective when I see myself as a great builder.

As one of the people who show up at a job that they will never see finished, to work on something that their name will never be on.

The writer of the book went so far as to say that no cathedrals could ever be built in our lifetime because there are so few people willing to sacrifice to that degree. When I really think about it,

I don't want my son to tell the friend he's bringing home from college for Thanksgiving,

'My Mom gets up at 4 in the morning and bakes homemade pies, and then she hand bastes a turkey for three hours and presses all the linens for the table.'

That would mean I'd built a shrine or a monument to myself. I just want him to want to come home.

And then, if there is anything more to say to his friend, to add, 'you're gonna love it there.'

As mothers, we are building great cathedrals. We cannot be seen if we're doing it right. And one day, it is very possible that the world will marvel, not only at what we have built, but at the beauty that has been added to the world by the sacrifices of invisible women. We never know what our finished products will turn out to be because of our perseverance.

Sometimes we tend to forget that, or it gets lost in all the "clutter" of our everyday lives. You can't do everything, but you can do something. You would probably be really surprised about the number of people's lives that you touch. They are most likely looking at you and saying the same thing...."If she can do it why can't I?"

How many times have you found yourself saying that same thing "if she can do it why can't I"? in our own families and within in our circle of friends.

Sometimes just being who we are, where we are and cultivating our relationships and life where we stand should be enough but always moving forward doing something.

We are always looking for more then we should sometimes we try to do it all, and soon find out that things get put on the back shelf that should be right at the front.

SIMPLIFY

As hard as it is sometimes. It usually works out for the best.

We can't please everyone either no matter how hard we try, I think we need to spend more time on the most important things in our lives, and feeling loved and being loved by those around us. and most importantly loving ourselves for who we are not who we wish we were or letting the if only' s get in the way.

We get distracted to much by whats out there or things that don't matter and won't get us anywhere.

I really think that doing our best serving others and being examples does more for the soul and others around us then we have the ability to comprehend.

Our children, family, friends are watching and learning from us.

We need to eliminate the "clutter" in our lives and do what we can

knowing that we can't do everything.

but we can do SOMETHING.

Let's have some Mango!!!

cups mango juice or tropical juice blend

1/4

to 1/2 cup lime juice

to 14 ice cubes

cup club soda

pint coconut ice cream, coconut sorbet or vanilla ice cream

Large candy sprinkles, if desired

1.	Chill glass jars or goblets in freezer several hours before serving, if desired.
2.	Place mango juice, lime juice and ice cubes in blender. Cover and blend on high speed about 45 seconds or until smooth. Pour mixture into 4 jars.
3.	Pour 1/4 cup club soda into each of the jars. Add 1 large scoop ice cream to each jar. Garnish with candy sprinkles.

Okay so you all know I absolutely love Mango.

This is such a good drink. Very Refreshing.

I added a little bit of shredded coconut in the blender

and I served it with vanilla ice cream!

Also I used fresh Mangos!

Girls and Awards!

Next time mommy will be the

Ana Finau in her pink princess dress.

She still goes to my class after

wandering off into the parking lot

incident. I love her, she keeps me

going ALL day long!

My Shanny....she now has a permanent

accessory. Her back back my sister gave

her for Easter. She is learning so much lately.

She loves reading, painting, and impersonating

everyone. Love you Shanny!

My Tilisa. She is such a big helper.

Sometimes I have to remind her,

that I am the mom! LOL.

I think that is the age.

She is so smart and so talented.

She is starting piano lessons

soon, and is still always painting and drawing.

Tilisa has merged into her new school like a pro.

I think Utah and Nevada school system

are soooo different.

Tuesday she received the highest award

for the school. The principals award.

She was so excited and we are so

proud of her. She is always reading and

doing her spelling. She loves math and

she gets along well with everyone.

I am so thankful for my family.

I am so thankful that my

Heavenly Father has blessed

me with so much.

As Many of you know I was an operator for

The Church of Jesus Christ

of Latter Day Saints before I move to Las Vegas.

Since we have moved one of the things

that has made me so sad about leaving

was my job. I know to the outside world

people probably think I am crazy!

Before I started working for the church

I was struggling big time with just about

everything. My testimony, why I was here,

what I was doing, who I was....

Pretty much any question you could ask,

I was asking myself.

I have so many wonderful stories that have

happen to me while I worked for the church.

Most of them are personal and ones I will

always hold dear to heart for as long as I live.

My first week in training I walked into

the office sat down and in walked

President Monson.

He walked over put his hand on my

shoulder and said we are glad you are here.

To most, this would not be a big deal.

To me at that moment in time, it meant

everything. From that day on I had many

conversations with the prophet.

I have written these experiences down

in my journal and hope one day my grandchildren

will think WOW my grandma knew the prophet!

I have to say my experiences working for

the church have changed my life.

They have made me want to be a better

wife, mother, daughter, friend.

President Monson will always

hold a very special place in my heart.

I sustain him and I know he is

a true prophet of God.

"Occasionally discouragement may darken our pathway;

frustration may be a constant companion.

In our ears there may sound the sophistry of Satan as he whispers,

“You cannot save the world; your small efforts are meaningless.

You haven’t time to be concerned for others.”

Trusting in the Lord, let us turn our heads from such falsehoods

and make certain our feet are firmly planted in the path of service and

our hearts and souls dedicated to follow the example of the Lord.

In moments when the light of resolution dims and when the heart grows faint,

we can take comfort from His promise:

'Be not weary in well-doing. …

Try them, they are delicious!

2 quarts water

12 cubes chicken bouillon

4 large diced

potatoes with skin

3 large carrots (chunked)

1 large onion (chopped)

1 cup celery (diced)

1 bunch broccoli (chopped)

1½ cups butter

1½ cups flour

1½ quarts more

water

16 ounce jar Cheez Whiz

¾ teaspoon of garlic salt

In 2 quarts water, c

ook bouillon and vegetables. In smaller pan, combine butter and flour. Slowly add 1 ½ quarts of water. Stir to thicken. Add slowly to lar

ge pan of veggies. Add Cheez Whiz and salt.

Simmer.

Also You have to have some Aloha Bread.

-Lion House Recipe

Ingredients:
1 Cup Butter
2 Cups Sugar
4 Eggs
1 Cup Mashed Bananas
4 Cups all-purpose Flour
2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Teaspoon Soda
1 20-Ounce Can Crushed Pineapple, Undrained
¾ Cup Chopped Pecans
1 Cup Coconut

Method:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease 2 large 8x4-inch loaf pans. Set aside. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter, and sugar. Add eggs. Stir in bananas. In separate bowl mix flour, baking powder, soda, and salt, then add to banana mixture. Blend well, but be careful not to over mix. (Over mixing causes tunnels and a coarse texture) Add pineapple, pecans, and coconut and mix together on low speed until blended. Pour into prepared pans. The pans should each be two-thirds full. Bake for 60 to 80 minutes.

Makes 2 large loaves.

Decisions were made by going

Mistakes were corrected by simply

exclaiming, "do over!"

"Race issue" meant arguing

about who ran the fastest.

Money issues were handled by whoever

was the banker in "monopoly"

Catching fireflies could happily occupy

an entire evening

It wasn't odd to have two or three "best" friends.

Saying cuss words were referred to the

"F, B or S - word" or h-e double hockey sticks.

Being old, referred to anyone over 20.

The worst thing you could catch from

the opposite sex was cooties.

The only real heart break you had was when

your mom wouldnt buy you that new toy

Nobody was prettier than Mom

Nobody was cooler than Dad

Scrapes and bruises were kissed and made better

It was a big deal to finally be tall enough to

ride the "big people" rides at the amusement park.

Getting an inch of snow was a dream come true.

Abilities were discovered because

of a "double-dog-dare"

Spinning around, getting dizzy and

falling down was cause for giggles.

If you can remember most or all of these,

then you have LIVED!!!

I have not posted forever but I could not go

another day and not write my feelings about Ana.

Ana was born 4 years ago on February 26, 2005.

She brings so much joy and craziness into our lives.

For her birthday the only thing she wamted was

high hill shoes. That in itself tells you a lot of her

personality. She has to have her hair done at all times.

She always has to have lip gloss on and in her pocket,

just in case! She always asks, Mom do I look bootiful? Yes Ana

you are beautiful. Tanks Mom...that is how she says thanks!

She is my little helper in the kitchen, she likes to misk(mix)

everything up. Her favorite thing to make is

chocolate anything, but especially cupcakes.

I love her so much. I am so thankful

for her and her large personality

that brings joy into my life each and everyday!

I will love you always Ana!!!

Blessed...

As many of you know the last few months have
been a whirl wind for our family.
We packed up and left our jobs, home,
family and friends
to pursue new things in Las Vegas.
After many prayers and tears we knew it
was the right thing to do.
Today my heart is so full and although I don't know
all of the reasons we are here,
I have felt reassured that we made the right decision.
We are thankful for our ward
and have appreciated them opening there
arms and welcoming us.

The first couple of weeks we were here I felt so guilty.
I felt bad that I was not working.
I missed my job so much.
I know that sounds funny but I loved my job.
I have so many wonderful, special memories, and
life long friendships that I will always treasure.

One day I woke up and realized I was with
my girls again,
twenty four hours a day.
More than anything on this earth I love being
a mom. I love hearing my girls giggles,
and watching them grow.
I cannot believe how fast the time goes.
Ana will be four in just
a few days.
I feel blessed that I am with them again.

and I held you up and watched them melt on your baby skin..

I needed this laugh for the week.

This week some of my parental responsibilities

have consisted of getting kicked all

night long by a certain someone that

cannot sleep in her own bed.

Getting yelled at repeatedly for

noodles and mac and cheese.

Cleaning up throw up.

Little girls demanding slurpees.

Hey I even got a black eye getting

head butted from a three year old....

But guess what?

I would not change a thing.

I feel so honored to be a mom.

I pray each day for patience, and

thank My Heavenly Father for my

beautiful girls!

I love being there mom!

It's not only children who grow. Parents do too. As much as we watch to see what our children do with their lives, they are watching us to see what we do with ours. I can't tell my children to reach for the sun. All I can do is reach for it, myself.

Hoover Dam!

We decided to take a trip to the Hoover Dam, since
it's only about 30 minutes away.
Of coarse we pick the only day that it rains!
Obviously T was not to happy
about that!!! LOL!

It is remarkable seeing something so huge, yet Beautiful.
I guess they are building a new road. You can really see it in this picture.
That is one bridge I don't think I would want to cross.
Way to high for me!
I think this picture is so funny. Ana dancing out front,
and my niece has my nephew in a head lock!
Here is my girlies! I love them so much!
We had a good day. Although I think they had a better
time at McDonald's play land after.

Well everyone we made it!

For all of you who are wondering, yes we are

now officially residents of Las Vegas!.

Also NEVER move and have Christmas at the same time!

We are still unpacking and trying to get organized.

We will miss our family and friends in Utah but we are

It was my daddy's birthday on the 20th.

I just wanted to let him know how much I love

A Lot To Be Thankful For.....

I know a lot of times I write the things that I am thankful for,

but with it being Thanksgiving I just have too.

First I am thankful for my family for the love they

give me each and every day. I am thankful for my

husband that works hard for our little family.

I am thankful for the butterflies I still get in my stomach

just like I did on our first date.

They confirm to me each time, how madly in love I am with him.

I am thankful for my three little monkeys....

where would I be without them?

I am so thankful for T and for the wonderful

compassionate little girl she is.

I still melt when she looks at me with her big brown eyes.

Her teacher at parent teacher conferences kept saying

how much she loves her. How she is always willing

to help others, and she is the type of child teachers

wish they could have 30 of them. She is wonderful,

and I tell her every day when I give her a big hug and kiss.

Love you T!

My Shanny, Shanny. She has a heart of gold.

Unlike Tilisa and Ana Shannan keeps to herself a lot

and is very soft spoken. She comes and hugs made probably

twenty times a day and every time says, "I love you Mommy."

When she says that I don't care that she is lazy and never wants

to help with any of the chores around the house,

although she has started to like vacuuming.

I just have to talk her into actually picking the big

things off the floor.

She will always be my Little Shanny.....Love You!

Finally my little Ana. She is a Little firecracker!

I have never met a little girl with so much spunk,

so much personality. She goes non stop from the

time she wakes up, until she finally falls asleep.

I wish I had her energy.

She still calls me mama, which I have to say I love.

She is my baby and I cannot believe she is almost four...

where does the time go?

I will Love you always Ana Finau!

As a mom my greatest hope is that my girls

will grow to be good people. I feel like

they are on the right track, and I am so thankful

for that.

I also want to say how thankful I am for my parents.

I could have never asked for greater parents.

They have always loved and supported me my whole life.

Growing up at my dance competitions I think my parents

were the loudest cheering me on.

They always have been my biggest supporters.

They have always shown me by example the type of love that

I wanted in my own marriage.

It's hard with the different health problems my mom

has had having them so far away.

My mom suffers from seizures and sometimes she forgets things.

Just today she called me and asked if I was her friend.

I knew that she had a seizure and I asked if she wanted me to

call someone to come and help her,

she asked who I would call.

I told her I would call Cliff. She acted very shy

and said I don't want him to see me like this.

I laughed and said I think it will be okay.

She said I think he likes me, but I don't

think my mom and dad do.

I reassured her that her parents would love him

and then I asked if she liked him.

A whole bunch she said. When he kissed me the first time

I could not eat for three days, and my mom embarrassed me.

I asked how? She turned the front porch light on and off,

on and off until I came in the house. LOL!

I was still on the phone when her Cliffy B came to check on her.

I don't know how he does it.

He truly is my super hero.

My whole life I have never heard my dad complain.

He has always just done what he is suppose to do,

and taking care of my mom has always been his highest priority.

I am thankful for them and there example.

I am thankful for my brother and sisters.

I want them to know how much I love them.

I have the greatest family. I will always cherish the

times we spend together.

I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful family.

Busy with salt dough!!

I have been meaning to post all weekend, but I have been busy!

I got the idea of salt dough ornaments from Cathy at Cobblestone Farms.

So I took the idea and ran with it....this is what I have come up with!

I love the way they have turned out. I love snowman.

These would make a great inexpensive gift for a teacher, friend, neighbor, etc.

for you. Obviously I have other colors than what is

seen, and I also have stars. I will post those later today!

I also have the bigger snowman with ear muffs.

We missed You Guys!

This past Sunday we had Thankgiving dinner early.

We did because my parents were here, and were

not going to be able to be here for Thanksgiving.

It was nice and I will post more on it later,

but my brother and his family were missing.

They were not able to come down from Casper.

Jayson, Ale and little Sophia we missed you and

can't wait until Christmas!

My brother and I were always the

greatest friends growing up.

I love and miss him so much.

I will always cherish the memories I have

of my childhood having the

best brother in the world!

Obviously I am not speaking of my children.

I am speaking about this little guy...more on him later.

I have not really updated so these are the

happenings around the Fonua Household!

This sexy guy had a birthday!

Happy B-day Hun!

We received a little snow.

The girls were ready to throw on there

snow suits and build a snowman.

Instead they snuck out of the house, ate some snow

and took pictures as evidence....BUSTED!!

This cute little girl went back on track.

She was so ready. She could not wait to go back and

be with her teacher and friends. T loves school.

Last week she was begging for a work book from

Sam's Club so she could work on her math,

English, and problem solving skills.

I hope she always is this excited about school.

She really is my little smarty pants.

She enjoys learning about the

planets, animals, and wants to be a

doctor someday!

Well since she went back to school Shanny

and Ana have rule over the house once again.

They love lining the kitchen chairs up in the living

room and play choo-choo train.

Here again they documented what they had done.

She is my little monkey.

Ana must have taken this picture of Shanny.

She likes rolling up in the rug in the living room.

Then she pretends she is a big snake... I think

she looks like a cute girl hanging out of a rug!!!

Tilisa often looks at the blogs I visit,

she thinks I need to start taking pictures of the

food we eat like Pioneer Woman.

Well T this is for you.

That night we were eating a chicken/stuffing

casserole, peas, fresh pineapple and of

coarse pink lemonade!

Ana thought she was funny putting her

foot on the table.

She really is a little trouble maker!!!

Now to this little guy.

My mom and dad went this past week

to Jamaica so they asked the girls to watch

there dog "Sparky."

He has grown on us. We love him.

It's so fun watching the girls taking him

outside, feeding him,

loving him, and snuggling with him at night.

Have you ever heard a dog snore?

Well he does, real loud!

They love him so much.

He has probably been stressed all

week being around three giggling, goofy girls!

I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish.

And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees, Christmas trees.. I don't feel threatened.

I don't feel discriminated against. That's what they are: Christmas trees. It doesn't bother me a bit when people say, 'Merry Christmas' to me. I don't think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto. In fact, I kind of like it It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn't bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in Malibu . If people want a creche, it's just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away. I don't like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don't think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can't find it in the Constitution and I don't like it being shoved down my throat.Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren't allowed to worship God as we understand Him? I guess that's a sign that I'm getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to. In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it's not funny, it's intended to get you thinking.Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her 'How could God let something like this happen?' (regarding Katrina) Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said, 'I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?'In light of recent events... terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said OK.Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves. Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with 'WE REAP WHAT WE SOW. 'Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Our Fun Filled Halloween!!!

We started out our day with these guys!!!

They invited us to hang out with them.....

kidding, my girls wish!

The girls have wanted to go see High School Musical 3.

So today we headed to the District.

It was fun, the girls really enjoyed it.

The girls think Zac Effron is HOT!!

A few days ago the commercial came on for

the movie and Shanny said,

"Troy is Hot!" How funny that was coming

out of my five year old mouth!

Ana found this poster and was trying to

look up his nose!

This was the first time we have gone to the actual movie theatre in a long time.

We tried taking Tilisa and Shannan to the movies to see

The Tigger Movie a few years ago.

We sat down and before the previews were over they were both ready to go.

So we have gone to the drive in for the last 3 or 4 years.

I am happy to say today we made it through the whole movie!!!

Trunk Or Treat!

Tonight the ward was having the Halloween trunk or treat. The girls were very excited because they have been begging to wear there costumes since we got them.

This year Tilisa was a witch, a good witch she says. Shannan was Cinderella, and Ana was Sleeping Bootie as she would say. My brother in-law took them tonight to the church, they were ready to go two hours before he came to pick them up. They couldn't wait!

Ana did not want to stand to close to the vampire, she thought he looked scary!!! I hope they had fun...I won't find out until the morning when I get home from work!

Lost In Translation!

So tonight me and the girls are sitting down to have FHE. Loni is now working the swing shift, so it was just me and the girls. So I was talking to the girls the importance of always telling the truth. I am giving them different scenarios, and then I thought of coarse the boy who cried wolf! So I start telling them the story realising I have no idea what I am talking about, I forgot the story!

So I am telling them of the boy sitting on the hill top and crying wolf, I told them the boy ended up getting eaten by the wolf! LOL! Well by this time my girls eyes were as big as baseballs. We opened it up for conversation and Tilisa and Shanny were asking tons of questions. I look at Ana and she is not saying anything which is odd for her, but you could see the wheels just turning. So finally we get done say our prayers and they were getting tucked in bed and Ana finally said, "Mom, wolves don't eat boys they eat big snakes!" I was laughing my guts out but I felt dumb because I forgot the story so of coarse I turned to google! This is the story just in case you have forgotten.

There once was a shepherd boy who was bored as he sat on the hillside watching the village sheep. To amuse himself he took a great breath and sang out, "Wolf! Wolf! The Wolf is chasing the sheep!"The villagers came running up the hill to help the boy drive the wolf away. But when they arrived at the top of the hill, they found no wolf. The boy laughed at the sight of their angry faces."Don't cry 'wolf', shepherd boy," said the villagers, "when there's no wolf!" They went grumbling back down the hill.Later, the boy sang out again, "Wolf! Wolf! The wolf is chasing the sheep!" To his naughty delight, he watched the villagers run up the hill to help him drive the wolf away.When the villagers saw no wolf they sternly said, "Save your frightened song for when there is really something wrong! Don't cry 'wolf' when there is NO wolf!"But the boy just grinned and watched them go grumbling down the hill once more.Later, he saw a REAL wolf prowling about his flock. Alarmed, he leaped to his feet and sang out as loudly as he could, "Wolf! By this time I am like oh my goodness. So I walked into the girls room and told them to come in on my bed so I could tell them the real story!

I feel my Saviors Love...

All this week my heart has been so full that I felt I needed to write about what I am feeling. I wanted to share the love that I have for my Savior, Jesus Christ.
As a child and through my teenage years I always felt close to my Savior. I had no problems saying my prayers, reading my scriptures, bearing my testimony to others. I always had His spirit with me, I didn't feel like I ever had to ask, He was just always there with me. I never found myself in a situation that I could not handle. I never felt pressure to smoke or drink or to do things that I knew where wrong. I remember serving on the youth counsel of my stake and going to the different wards and bearing my testimony to the youth and knowing without a doubt everything I had said was true.....

Then one day I woke up and it was gone. I am not sure how it all happened, I just know that I could beg for the Spirit and still I could not feel the light of Christ in me. I felt like at this time in my life when I am suppose to raise my children and have the Spirit in our home I was coming up empty. I have felt many times that I was at the mercy of Him wanting things to be back the way they use to be. Many times crying just wanting Him to hear me......Heavenly Father are you really there?

I now can honestly say He is really there, I know he has heard each and everyone of my prayers. After ten years of struggling with my testimony and wondering of my self worth, I know He does hear me. I know that for every day for the past ten years He has been carrying me every step of the way. It's like in the poem Footprints in the sand.
My precious child, I love you and I would never leave you,During your times of trial and suffering,when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

I do know that God lives and that Jesus is the Christ. I know that I am a daughter of God. I know that one day I will return to be with Him again. I am thankful for the past ten years that have made me a stronger person. I am sorry for the people that I have hurt along the way. I am thankful for my family that have stuck by my side and made me see that this brighter day was coming. I am thankful for my Heavenly father giving me my husband and my three girls that I need more than

anything else this life has to offer.

I will leave you with the words to one of my favorite songs,

What do you do when you can't sleep?

Well here it is almost 4:00 am and I can't sleep. I have actually been awake since 12:47 am, but hey who is keeping track. My darling sister Andrea wanted the girls for a sleep over tonight. I think it's our first official night without the girls in a very long time. Maybe the house is to quiet, or maybe I am just use to checking on them a couple times a night....

whatever it is I can't sleep!

I know I am crazy, I should enjoy the peace while it lasts!

So here is to my cute babies that my thoughts of them are keeping me up tonight. So while I am up I thought I would post a few pictures for the week.

We went to Vegas this last weekend. We thought we would get a nice warm weekend, wrong.

It was cold. We went down to celebrate Shanny and our niece Daphne's birthday.

All Shanny wanted to do was swim. So we took them to the pool and let's just say it was a very quick dip in the pool!

Here is a picture of our little nephew Sinipata. I love him so much, don't you just want to pinch those cheeks!

This picture was actually from the last time we were in Vegas. As you can

tell it's hard to get this rowdy bunch to take a group photo! Oh well we tried!

Here is one of our Sunday pictures. Sometimes I feel like Sunday is the only day we all look half way decent so we better get a picture while we can. Otherwise our posterity might think we were a bunch of hooligans! This picture says it all...can you tell who the trouble maker is?

I found this little project off another blog last year and I have loved this saying since I saw it in the Quilted Bear a few years ago with my mom. I love the fall. I love the the weather, I love the smells especially my pumpkin spice candle. I love being able to put all my warm blankets back on my bed and drinking cocoa to get warm.

I love the way these signs turned out.

The girls I made them for absolutely loved the way they turned out.

A few weeks ago we went to the zoo. It was actually Shanny and Ana's first time to the zoo.

They loved it. They took a ride on the carousel!

Here are the three of them. They enjoyed the zoo very much. We wish there was more animals out that day. We didn't get to see the tigers or even many monkeys. But I am glad we got to enjoy the day together!
